Private Land Hunts (Bordering the Mescalero Reservation)

* These private land hunts occur on 50,000 acres of private land bordering the famed Mescalero Indian Reservation. This ranch shares over 20 miles of border with the reservation. As the elk move from the reservation they end up on this ranch. Thousands of elk spend the winter in this area.

* The hunt rate includes the landowner voucher so no drawing is necessary. Hunters can expect to see 25-40 bulls per day. Bulls in excess of 350 have been taken. The topography of the ranch is rather gentle and open. Bulls are found by glassing the draws and parks until a bull of acceptable size is spotted.

* The hunt rate includes 1:1 guide ratio, meals, lodging, field transportation and airport pickup if desired.There will be a maximum of only 4 hunters on the ranch during any hunt week.

* Hunts take place on public as well as private land. The public land hunts occur in Gila Mountains and surrounding units of 16A, 16B, 16D, 16E, 15 and 13. These are known to be some of the top trophy producing units in New Mexico.

* For the public land hunts, hunters are encouraged to apply in the outfitter sponsored drawing for the necessary tags. HuntersTrailhead can assist with the application process if needed. If unsuccessful, landowner vouchers can often be obtained.

* Unit 13 and 15 is are primitive weapons only units. This outfitter has extensive experience on these units and produces some of the top bulls taken from these units each year. The outfitter will provide a muzzleloader if necessary for these hunts. Inexperienced muzzleloader hunters use these "Ultimate Muzzleloaders" every year and are successful in taking trophy quality bulls. These muzzleloaders are equipped with scopes and are accurate to 350+ yards.

* Rates listed below are for the fully guided all inclusive hunts. This outfitter will work with the hunter to provide the services needed and adjust the rate accordingly.
