Description
The waters of Southeast Alaska near the city of Ketchikan are a go to location for those seeking a more gentle saltwater fishing experience. The passages between the many islands reduces the swells of the open sea. This doesn't mean that the size or quantity of fish you catch will be smaller than other places though. This charter has an exceptional success rate on large halibut and sea run salmon.
In mid-May, the Kings start frequenting the waters this charter fishes and is top rate through the month of June. Later in July the Silvers, Chum, Pink and Sockeye flood into the area with the Silvers remaining into October. The bottom fishing for halibut, cod and other rock fish is phenomenal throughout most of that time.
The captain of your fishing vessel lives in Ketchikan and has been fishing these waters most of his life. A fishing package includes your lodging and meals with a fully equipped boat and guide. They will provide your fishing gear, all-weather clothing, cleaning and vacuum packing of your catch.
