Alaska Peninsula Brown Bear

AK110B_1More Hunts from this outfitter

Hunt Description Alaska state law limits brown bear hunting on the Alaska Peninsula to the fall of odd years and the spring of even years. This has lead to exceptional bear quality. On a 10-day hunt it is not uncommon to see 8 to 10 bears with several being in the 9 foot category.
This hunt is guided 1x1 and consist of 10 full hunting days with a day of travel one either end. Hunters will arrive in Anchorage then take a charter flight across the Cook Inlet and into camp which consists of wall tents with heaters and cots. This is a comfortable camp which provides a place to rest and dry out after a long day.
A typical day is spent glassing from a vantage point and when a bear is spotted a stalk with be made to get within shooting range. Rifle hunters have enjoyed a near 95% success rate with archers in the 70% range. This success rate is understandable as the outfitter has been guiding hunters out of these camps since 1997 and knows the area exceptionally well.
