ID165EMore Hunts from this outfitter
Hunt Description
Acquiring a permit to hunt elk in Idaho has become a real challenge. You must either apply in the drawing or hope to be assigned a good position in line for the over the counter tags. Neither of these options offer a very high probability of securing the desired tag. With this outfitter, you can skip over that chaos and take a tag from his annual allocation.....a guaranteed tag when you are ready to go hunting.
Book your hunt out of the comfortable lodge with all the modern conveniences or climb into the saddle and hunt out of a back-country horseback tent camp. Both options are available with great success out of either one. If hunting out of the lodge, hunters will be transported via atv/side-by-side to the hunt location for that day. Back-country hunters will hike out or even take the horses to more distant canyons and basins.
Your hunt will take place in the game rich environment northeast of Boise, Idaho. Many hunters still worry that the wolves have "eaten all of the elk in Idaho". However, that is all in the past. Wolves are now being hunted and their populations controlled. This has allowed for the elk to recover their numbers and this hunt offers a great success rate on very respectable bulls. Most will be 6x6 scoring in the 280-300 range with a couple topping 320 each year.
