Hunt Description
Acquiring a permit to hunt desert bighorn can be a life long pursuit. The few states that offer permits are very difficult to draw and many hunters will age out before ever having a permit with their name on it. This causes many sheep hunters to look south of the border into Old Mexico where ranches are able to offer permits directly to the hunter without going through a drawing. This outfitter has near 100,000 acres of prime sheep and deer habitat available to his hunters.
Most hunters will fly into Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico where the American Outfitter/Owner will meet them, assist with any gun import requirements and drive them out to the ranch. It is very reassuring to know that your host and outfitter is an english speaking American citizen. All lodging is included and you will be staying in comfortable ranch houses with electricity, hot/cold running water, showers, beds and a professional chef. All of your needs will be addressed.
Early each day, hunters are driven out to the mountains known to hold desert bighorn. When a ram large enough to harvest is found, a stalk is planned and executed. Shots will range from within 100 yards out to 400 or more for those prepared for long range shooting. These ranches hold healthy populations of desert bighorn and hunter success is exceptionally high.
