This elk hunt for those looking for a physically less demanding option. Most of New Mexico unit 12 is gentle terrain with some small canyons and washes that provide the elk good bedding cover and security. Large open expanses on this 10,000 acre private ranch provides ample glassing locations and opportunities. The ranch is lightly hunted so as not to bump the elk to the neighboring properties.

Lodging is in a comfortable hunting lodge that includes all the modern conveniences. Electricity, hot and cold running water and individual beds are waiting after a long day in the field. Take a shower and rest on the couch while watching a movie before climbing into bed.

Most of the mature bulls taken on this ranch will score in the neighborhood of 300 but several do exceed that each season and there is a real possibility of taking a bull that will reach into the 340 range and larger. Due to the outfitters hunting methods and knowledge of the ranch, hunters here have enjoyed an unusually high success rate. Few go home without having had the opportunity to squeeze the trigger or release an arrow.

Elk tags to hunt this ranch can be drawn in the New Mexico annual permit drawings. Hunters can improve their chances of being successful in acquiring a tag by entering the "guided draw" where the odds of being selected are higher than the public drawing. We will assist any hunter interested in this option with the required paperwork and applications. Drawing the tag will eliminate the need for a landowner voucher thus significantly reducing the hunt rate.
