Hunt Description
The Diamond Mountains Unit in northeastern Utah is managed to produce some top quality mule deer. Drawing this unit can be difficult facing low drawing odds and can take many years. But if a hunter has gotten lucky in the drawing or built a sufficient number of points to guarantee the tag, this is a great hunt to consider.
A number of Landowner tags are also available each year as well. Hunters will have access to 12,000 acres of private land managed to produce top quality bucks as well as all of the public land. Archery hunts are in August and early September and are stand hunting over water or spot and stalk. Muzzleloader hunts are in late September and early October while rifle hunts are in October. Gun hunts are typically spot and stalk.
There is a tremendous deer population in this area. It is common to see several hundred deer thorough out the course of a hunt with 15-20 bucks or more per day.
